Kendati sudah bercerai dengan Wina, Joni memutuskan untuk membesarkan sendiri anak hasil pernikahannya dengan Wina.
Bangga dengan profesi sebagai ahli komputer, Joni berusaha sedari dini mengajarkan kepada anaknya prinsip kerja komputer. Ketika sedang memberi makan, Joni berkata, “Nah Billy, anggap makanan di sendok ini disket dan mulutmu diskdrive. Disket harus dimasukkan ke dalam diskdrive”.
Si anak membuka mulutnya dan makan. Setelah beberapa suap, si anak enggan membuka mulutnya dan terus membujuk, “Ayo buka mulutmu, disket ini harus masuk ke dalam disk-drive.”
Sambil menunjukkan ada butiran batu, si anak berkata, “Papa, ada virus”.
Dengan sabar Joni membuang butiran batu tersebut dan si anak mau makan lagi. Namun setelah beberapa suap,si anak berhenti makan dan Joni yang mulai tidak sabar terus meminta anaknya membuka mulut. Si anak tetap saja tidak mau makan. Setelah Joni berteriak marah, akhirnya si anak berkata, “Papa, komputernya sedang hang…”
Joni cuma menghela nafas panjang mencoba tetap sabar. Terlintas di benaknya untuk memformat anak badung yang ada di hadapannya.

[Movie Review] The Love of Siam

[blue]Let's get things straight first. This movie is made in Thailand and is not an ordinary teenage romance story. You will be fooled, like me, by the cover of this movie that present four teenagers, 2 boys and two girls. Later in the movie, this two girls have no important role more than a beauty face in the cover.
Anyway..back to business...

SYNOPSIS
Mew (Witwisit) and Tong (Mario) were childhood friends. They lived in the same neighborhood. Mew was a child that lived with his grandmother. On the contrary, Tong had a happy religious family. The two boys soon become friends after Tong literally saved Mew from other student's abuse. Tong, then, gave mew a christmas doll. He gave it piece per piece. But too bad, they miss the red nose.
Their friendship were put on halt when Tang, Tong's sister, was missing during hiking. The family fall into deep grief. Even the father run to alcohol to ease his pain. They finally moved out of the house. Not until 7 years later that Mew and Tong finally met eye on eye again.
When they met again, Mew and Tong were in their late twenties (trust me..it doesn't look like it. They look like a middle / high school student. Something that bothers me later in the movie). They soon get together again as musically gifted Mew promised to gave Tong the cd of his popular band, the August Band.
The band itself has a new manager, called June. June is strikingly similar to Tong. When Tong met June for the first time, he almost didn't believe his eyes. Later, he and his mother met June and asked her to help his alcoholic father. June said yes but the problems doesn't stop there. At the beginning, it seems that the father is gaining his consciousness and leaving alcohol. they just being fooled. He just can't sto. No matter how much his wife sacrifice for him. She works hard, drive Tong to school and not to mention go back to the house during midday just to serve him lunch.
back to Tong and Mew, they seems get acquainted well until Mew realize his true feeling to Tong. After meeting Tong, his sense in writing music are stronger and he managed to write to two love songs and these songs soon become the band's main songs for their upcoming record. He started to realize that he has fall for his own best friend, despite that Tong is also a boy! And despite that there is a girl next door, named Ying, that fall deeply for him and ready to do anything to win his heart. Imagine how devastated her heart must be when she finds out that Mew fall for his childhood friend, Tong.
The revelation on how these two boys actually feel for each other come to screen at Tang's welcome party. Although the new Tang is fake, the family decided to welcome her again. Mew and his band performed and he sing his new love song that was written for Tong. These two boys share deep glance toward each other and smile in a way only lovers do. When the party ends, they sat on the bench and share deep kiss while Sunee, Tong's mother, watched from behind.
Problems arose since when Sunee forced Mew to end his relationship with Tong. Mew feel into deep grief, Sunee stand against June and Tong about Tong's decision with his sexual orientation while his father fell sick due to liver problem. Sunee cried and said her life is meaningless with a missing daughter, alcoholic and sick husband, and now, a gay son. To make it worst, June decided to leave the family after she got fired and after Sunee said she is just an outsider. June's leaving the family is not something that shock Sunee. But she has decided to give his son make his own choice.
In the end, Mew finally out from his grief to fulfill his duty to sing at Christmas festival at Siam Square. Tong, finally dumped his undesired girlfriend Donut, only to go to Siam square. He met Mew and gave him the missing doll's nose. Then he said that he cannot be Mew's boyfriend, though it doesn't mean that he doesn't love Mew.
REVIEW
Okay..it is actually hard for me to make the sinopsis, but yeah whatever.
first, by looking at its cover, im not expecting the cast to be that young for sure. I mean..they are teenagers, but look completely young. Kaya anak SMP aja. It is quite bothering, especially when the movie started to portray the gay side of their life, and not to mention their kisses. Well...i have seen several gay movies, but never teenage one. Its completely bothers me.
Anyway, despite their age, it is actually nice to see them act. Mario played just oke, not well spotted at some areas. On contrary, I think Witwisit aka Pitch played really good in potraying sissy and vulnerable Mew. A true singer and songwriter himself, Pitch was able to transfer the message of love in his singing and eyes. I even adore the way he sing the song he sang at Tang's party while his changing glance with Tong at the party certainly have some chemical on the sky.
This movie is actually come with long duration. it length almost 2,5 hours. I didn't realize it until I checked the timer after the film wrap up. Well, seeing what it is, i must say that the story keep me watching it. Despite being so distracted with the teenage gay romance, I do enjoy the family matters presented. About finding true love, maintaining that true love, alcohol, earn a better living and of course dealing with sexual orientation in teenage days.
One more, don't judge the film by its cover. And this is so true for this movie. If you see only the cover, you will think that it might be an ordinary teenage romance. But in the movey, those two girls hold very little role. Donut only appear to be neglected by Tong, while Ying only show her grief tough she helps Tong finding the missing red doll nose at the end of the movie.
And im so surprised to find out that this movie received so many awards though Thai public had different perceptions or thingking about this movie.
Last, its completely depend on you whether you want to see this movie or not.

gue aja ngira bkn film yaoi wkakkaka ...tapi abis baca sipnosis baru ngeh ..
